Visited newly opened Bird park by Dravyavati Riverfront and i must say i was impressed. The construction quality and the concept was amazing though they were in hurry of opening the project due to elections and it was yet not finished, there was no water either.
But they managed to preserve an 1892 pump house which was just rotting and no body knew it even existed. It is converted in to a museum and a classy cafeteria. Once complete it will be one of the new tourist attractions of Jaipur.
May be we will have riverfront marathon and intra city transportation via boats just like in Manchester

Bullbars and Crash Guards on vehicles are deemed safety risk for inhabitants of the car and pedestrians in the case of an accident. There has been many instances where pedestrians or bikers got stuck in those metallic guards and dragged along the speeding vehicles. Plus it throws the crash rating of the vehicle off the track and vehicles dont perform as per their design in case of an accident.
Central government has made them illegal and it attracts fine up to Rs 5000*, i have seen Jaipur Police taking actions against it.
But what can police do when they have to escort vehicles of VIPs who install them as a sign of machoness and flaunt the law with impunity.
Today i spotted Jaipur City Mayor of BJP, Mr Ashok Lahoty brandishing the Crash ...

Much has been said and done about the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Padmavati'.
On one end there is Freedom of Expression warriors and on the other end there are Karni Sena (self claimed Rajput representatives) warriors. The movie has kicked up storm in Rajput heavy states as they think the Portrayal of Rani Padmavati is below their dignified standards. My take on this
Padmavati issue is Commercialism/Capitalism meets Politics. Both vested interests are at locked horns with each other. At one end its Bollywood who will fall to any depth to make some money and on the other hand its a fringe group fighting to get a stake in political power.
Recently a renowned journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik got to see the advance screening of th...

After the mob attack on police station and public properties Ramganj is under curfew since last two days. Internet is not yet on in entire city.
Post curfew Jaipur police drone flew over the unrest area, what it found is shocking. Rocks and stones stockpiled on roofs in an event of another agitation. This is a very concerning sign, citizens of the city all geared up to destroy it.
Stern action has to be taken, city cannot be held hostage by few goons. Ms Vasundhra Raje and her cabinet has been in 'Talks' with muslim leaders. Is this kashmir or negotiations with naxals? State has to reinforce its writ else this will set a bad precedent.

One person who was injured taken to hospital later succumbed to his injuries. Since Jaipur blasts by Pakistani terrorists in May 2008 it was first time Curfew was imposed in Jaipur after 9 years.
All it happened over a minor incident. On a routine vehicle check/clearing an encroached area from electric rickshaws Police man tried to stop Sajid who was on is motorcycle with his wife in Muslim Majority area of Ramganj. Eyewitness say instead of stopping he tried to speed away and policeman swung his baton and accidentally hit Sajid's wife. Allegedly he fell off his bik...
