Bullbars and Crash Guards on vehicles are deemed safety risk for inhabitants of the car and pedestrians in the case of an accident. There has been many instances where pedestrians or bikers got stuck in those metallic guards and dragged along the speeding vehicles. Plus it throws the crash rating of the vehicle off the track and vehicles dont perform as per their design in case of an accident.

Central government has made them illegal and it attracts fine up to Rs 5000*,  i have seen Jaipur Police taking actions against it.

But what can police do when they have to escort vehicles of VIPs who install them as a sign of machoness and flaunt the law with impunity.

Today i spotted Jaipur City Mayor of BJP, Mr Ashok Lahoty brandishing the Crash Guards in an event like its nobody's business.

Being a state representative we expect our elected officials to respect the laws, especially when they are using government owned vehicles.

Hope Jaipur Traffic Police takes action.
